The Macquarie University Research Centre in Quantum Science and Technology : QSciTech
Macquarie University has established a new multidisciplinary research centre combining physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering and biochemistry to engage in novel research towards deeping our understanding in quantum science and technology.
The Reseach Centre was instituted in Jan 1 2009 and is funded until 2013.
It has two primary goals:
- Deepen our understanding of quantum science through novel discoveries and research and through this develop related technology
By combining multidisciplinarity we aim to make discoveries which will impact on a broad range of fields.
- Educate the public, students and other researchers in the general scientific areas of QSciTech
By holding an annual summer school for senior undergraduates and junior postgraduates we aim to convey the exciting promise of harnessing the capabilities of the quantum world.
